FAQ

Adventuresome Dinners for Single Professionals

Denver – Boulder – Front Range

How does it work and other Frequently Asked Questions.

First of all . . .

You’ve worked hard to get where you are, you’ve got a good income and education. Where do you go to meet others who share and respect your values, and who are ready to meet you? DINNER FOR SIX is what you have been looking for.

We are not an internet dating service nor do we charge the high fees associated with dating services. DINNER FOR SIX is a safer way to meet, our members are screened, we meet in restaurants in groups of six; which is less intimidating for many people than a one-on-one meeting or meeting in large groups.

We started here in Denver in 1994 and snce then we’ve seen over a 100 singles groups come and go.

We know what makes things work!

We’ve got great media reviews, click here to read what others have to say.

And while many of our members have tried on-line dating they find our concept safer and a non-threatening way to meet like minded singles.

Sometimes even the best of us needs a little help in meeting sincere members of the opposite sex in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Here’s how it works . . .

Our registration fee of $745 includes a 14 month membership. Click here for age group suggestions.  After a personal interview and questionnaire ("Profile") to determine your preferences and interests, you become eligible to join. Three men and three women, all single and sharing similar age group preferences and interests are booked for dinner at a variety of unique restaurants.

Our first dinner was in August 1994.

We host 4-8 dinners a week, with over 400 active members. And while "not a dating service" we average over 10 marriages a year.

What age groups work best?

Because we like to keep the age groups ratios balance we find that for men the best ages are 28-70, for women the best ages are 24-65. Ages outside this range do work but you must first talk with the office to see if there are any restrictions.

How do I know who my dinner mates are?

Upon arrival you are met by a DINNER FOR SIX host who introduces you and the other guests to each other on a first name basis. After introductions and confirming restaurant arrangements, your host leaves the six of you to good food, good conversation and a good time.

Where are the dinners?

Most dinners are in Central Denver with a few in Boulder. As the Boulder/Longmont membership increases we will do more in that area.

How do I book a dinner?

The weekend before the dinners we send out an "availability email" asking you what nights you are available for the following week.

We will confirm that you are still available for a specific date.  Once you have confirmed the date, along with the other members, dinners will be arranged and you will be contacted 24hrs before the dinner with your details, which include driving and parking recommendations.

Dinner Invites

Are emailed on the weekend for the following week.

Dinner Confirmations

Are emailed for a Thursday dinner by late-afternoon on Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. Friday and Saturday confirmations are emailed late-afternoon on Wednesday or early Thursday morning. After members have confirmed, the details are arranged and sent to you.

Dinner Details

Are email no later that 4:30 the day before the dinner. If you do not receive your details before the day before your dinner please call.  Emails do get lost. Details include: restaurant name, address, phone number, driving directions, parking hints and first names of your dinnermates and host.

Voice mail and email is checked around noon on Saturday with the office being closed on the weekend.

How is DINNER FOR SIX different from other single’s groups?

The Profile makes us unique. Unlike many groups all your dinners are based on your age groups and interests preferences. No more mismatched age groups. Our dinners are safe and non-threatening. Our staff meets you at the restaurant and introduces you. The dinners are small enough where you don’t feel intimated by walking into a large group of strangers, and large enough so you don’t feel like you are being paired up with just one person.

How is DINNER FOR SIX managed?

DINNER FOR SIX is a professionally run and managed by skilled full and part time professionals. All dinner events are introduced by our staff. Some group activities are run by members — when an activity is run by members there are no additional fees other than the actual cost of the event, i.e. league teams (softball, golf, etc.) pay league fees but no fees to DINNER FOR SIX.

Are there any other costs?

There is a $15 event fee per person for each dinner party, payable when you arrive at the restaurant if you are paying cash or credit cards are run the day of the dinner. If you choose to do more than two dinners a month you may prefer our $25 monthly dues program. The event fee is some what offset because most restaurants provide a complimentary item. You are responsible for paying the restaurant for your individual charges.

Why Six?

Six is the perfect number for a pleasant dining experience. Research has found that groups larger than six break into smaller units and fail to maintain a continuous conversation. Also, placing you in groups of six increases your chances of meeting someone special.

Can I dine often?

Yes, you can. DINNER FOR SIX arranges dinners Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays in a variety of locations. If you dine out often you increase your odds of making new friends.

Are there any group activities?

We offer group events (more than 6 people, with mixed ages) including cultural arts, outdoor activities, ski trips, wine tasting, group dinners and more (click here for our calendar of special events and single activities).

Is DINNER FOR SIX a dating service?

Our purpose is to introduce single professionals with similar interests, who enjoy good food, good conversation and a good time. And while we are not an internet dating service we average over 10 marriages a year.

***If you are interested in a Matchmaking Service we are associated with Bon Jour Matchmaking Service (303.756.8106) click here for Bon Jour Matchmaking Service.

What if it doesn’t work for me?

There is a non-refundable processing fee of $60. If we have not met your written goals and objectives you are eligible for a prorate refund (based on the number of dinners and activities you have signed up for) during the first 30 days. Refunds offered only on full price memberships of $745.

Meeting single professionals is complicated. Got it alone and you can meet the weirdoes! Go it alone and you may eventually find someone! We can help you cut through the chaff.

We’ve been around since 1994, so we know the game.  Don’t be shy. Give us a call 303.777.0700 or email us.
