A: We are not an on-line dating service or matchmaking service, nor do we charge thousands of dollars in fees. We offer social activities for Denver single professionals, and have been doing so since 1994. Since we started our dinner club we’ve seen more than 60 Denver singles groups come and go.

Q: Do people really enjoy the dinner party concept?

A: We’ve got some pretty good media reviews and invite you to check those out. And while many of our members have tried on-line dating, they find our concept a much nicer, less stressful, and more fun way to meet sincere Denver singles.

Q: How is the dinner bill and gratuity handled?

A: Our arrangements with the restaurant includes separate checks. It is suggested that you tip 22% which includes the gratuity for the complimentary item. Always double check your bill.

Q: How does DINNER FOR SIX work?

A: Denver singles can register for a 14-month DINNER FOR SIX membership. (Why 14 months? Since many members join at the same times of the year, this spreads out the renewals and new memberships.) As a potential member you will be interviewed and asked to complete a profile questionnaire to determine your preferences and interests. Upon approval, you will be invited to join us at dinners for three men and three women, all single professionals in the same age groups with similar interests. Dinners are booked several days in advance at a variety of unique restaurants. Check our MEMBERSHIP FEE SPECIALS to see if there are any discounts available.

Q: What ages can join?

A: The best ages are 28 and up, with some limitations for those that are over 65.

Q: Are there any discounts?

A: There are discounts for Denver singles under the age of 35. You can also get a discount when you join with a friend. See the SPECIAL page for the currently available special offers.

Q: How do I know who my dinner-mates are?

A: Upon arrival you are met by a DINNER FOR SIX host who introduces you and the five other Denver singles to each other on a first name basis. After introductions are made and the restaurant arrangements are confirmed, your host leaves the six of you to good food, good conversation, and a good time.

Q: Where are the dinners?

A: Currently most dinners are in Denver Metro Area with a few in Boulder.

Q: How do I book a dinner?

A: Each weekend, an “availability invite email” for the following week is sent. We ask that you respond by end of day on Monday. A “confirmation” e-mail is sent midweek before the dinner to see if you are still available. Once you have confirmed the date, along with other members, dinners will be arranged. You will then be contacted 24 hours before the dinner with the dinner details. (If you don’t get an email please double check, emails do get lost.)

Q: What is a Dinner Confirmation?

A: Dinner Confirmations are emailed by early Wednesday for Thursday dinners, and by early Thursday for Friday and Saturday dinners. After members have confirmed, the details are arranged and sent to you.

Q: What are Dinner Details?

A: Dinner Details include the restaurant name, address, phone, driving directions, parking hints, first names of the Denver singles you’ll be dining with, and the name of your host. The Dinner Details are emailed no later than 5pm the day before the dinner. If you confirmed a Dinner Confirmation but did not receive your details before 4PM the day before your dinner please call – emails do get lost. The office is closed on Saturdays. We generally try to check voice mail at noon and around 5pm, we may not be able to check emails on the weekends.

Q: How is DINNER FOR SIX different from other groups for Denver singles?

A: Dinners are based on your age groups and the interests and preferences you list in your profile. Our target market is single professionals who are interested in meeting like-minded Denver singles. Our staff meets you at the restaurant and introduces you. The dinners are small enough where you don’t feel intimated by walking into a large group of strangers, and large enough so you don’t feel like you are being paired up with just one person.

Q: Are there any other costs?

A: There is an event fee (currently $15) per person for each dinner party, payable when you arrive at the restaurant. In most cases that is offset by a complimentary item provided by the restaurant. If you choose to do more than two activities a month you may prefer our $35 monthly dues program. You are also responsible for paying the restaurant for your individual charges.

Q: Are there any incentives to invite my friends to join?

A: Each time you introduce a new member to DINNER FOR SIX, your next three event fees are waived. If you introduce two new members during your year, your renewal fee is waived.

Q: Why are the dinners composed of six Denver singles?

A: Six is the perfect number for a pleasant dining experience. Research has found that groups larger than six break into smaller units and fail to maintain a continuous conversation. Also, placing you in groups of six increases your chances of meeting someone special.

Q: How often can I dine with DINNER FOR SIX?

A: Dinner for Six arranges dinners on Thursdays, Friday and Saturdays in a variety of locations. If you dine out often you increase your odds of making new friends.

Q: Are there any group activities?

A: We offer group events (more than 6 people, with mixed ages) including cultural arts, outdoor activities, ski trips, wine tasting, group dinners and more (check our calendar page).

Q: Is Dinner for Six an Internet dating service?

A: No. The purpose of DINNER FOR SIX is to introduce single professionals with similar interests, who enjoy good food, good conversation, and a good time. Our belief is that it is much easier to make friends first before you begin dating. And while we are not a dating service we average over 10 marriages a year.

Q: What if it doesn’t work for me?

A: There is a non-refundable processing fee of $60. Each Letter of Agreement will spell out its refund procedure. If we have not met your written goals and objectives you are eligible for a prorate refund (based on the number of dinners and activities you have signed up for) during the first 30 days. Refunds are offered only on full price memberships of $799. It is not offered for a discounted membership.
